The Sizes
Class C motorhomes are the middle ground when it comes to size and amenities and tend to weigh between 10,000-12,000 lbs with a length between 21 and 41 feet. Aside from some of the smaller models, many will have a few slide-outs to help maximize indoor space once you get to your campsite. The largest ones can even sleep up to 8 people, making them perfect for family trips or a small group of friends.
Fuel Economy
As a middle-ground option in terms of size and power, a Class C motorhome is more fuel-efficient than the largest motorhomes and less so than the smaller ones. On average, a gasoline-fueled Class C will get around 13 miles per gallon.

Because it’s the medium-sized option, you might expect the amenities in a Class C motorhome to be fairly limited—but you’d be surprised. Your average Class C rig has a full bedroom, full kitchen with all the appliances you’re used to, and a full bathroom with a distinct shower, not a cramped wet bath. They also tend to have a lot of flexible sleeping arrangements like fold-outs and convertible furniture. These campers also have respectable living areas with entertainment centers to bring a touch of the modern with you on your next camping adventure and both interior and exterior storage.
Class C’s are also distinct due to the part of the living space that hangs over the cab. This extra area can be either an extra bunk, storage space, or both, depending on the model you can and how you choose to use the space.
