Fuel Type
A Class C motorhome can have either a gas engine or a diesel one. Diesel engines are more expensive up front, but they balance that with less frequent maintenance and a longer lifespan. Gasoline engines, however, are much easier to afford and might even have more horsepower.
Size
Though Class C motorhomes are generally mid-size campers, there’s still plenty of variety in length. Most will land between 20-30 feet long, so try to determine how large a vehicle you’re comfortable with driving, parking, and paying for. Then balance that with any must-have amenities in order to find the perfect fit.
Layout
And naturally, there are many different layouts available for Class C motorhomes. Figure out what rooms you want and need, how large you want them to be, and where they should be placed in relation to each other. You should also decide what you want the berth over the cab to be—it’s typically used as an extra sleeping berth or for storage.
